He's sexy and he knows it!
Adam Levine has been named People magazine's Sexiest Man Alive, but he says he didn't see it coming. "As a musician, you have fantasies that you want to win Grammys, but I didn't really think that this was on the table," the 34-year-old Maroon 5 singer said. "I was just amazed and stunned and it almost seemed like they were kidding, but they weren't, so that's cool."
"The Voice" mentor also revealed that he's a crier ("E.T'" got to him) and that he likes to be naked. Speaking of, he keeps that buff bod in shape with yoga and spinning.
While Levine is definitely a worthy winner, check out what some past Sexiest Man Alive alums said about their time in the sexy spotlight.
He was named Sexiest Man Alive in 2003 and 2009, but when Johnny Depp lost his "sexy" crown to newcomer Ryan Reynolds in 2010, he joked: "I feel emasculated. I feel like I've been beaten down like some horrible ... you know, like some pathetic harp seal. But, I mean, that's how it goes, isn't it? I think I can work my way forward, but will I try for it again? No. ... I worked so hard to gain that title."
After he won the Sexiest Man title in 2008, Hugh Jackman joked that his wife thought Brad Pitt should have won. The actor told Entertainmentwise: "First thing Deb said was, 'I knew it! I knew I'd married the sexiest man alive!' Second was a quite genuine question about the process of how it's chosen. She said, 'So is it readers? Editors? Votes?', and I said 'Well I think it's the editors, there's a think tank who get together and go through photos, and they decide.' She replied, 'So anyone can get it...and Brad Pitt didn't get it?'"
"There are all the events you have to show up for. The sash you have to wear … is embarrassing," he said. He also joked that his pal Pitt was going to be upset: "This one's going to be hard for Brad since he's been Sexiest Man Alive twice," Clooney said. "He's enjoyed that mantle. I'd say 'Sexiest Man Alive' to him and he'd go, 'Two-time.' So that's been taken away. We used to call him Two Time. So Brad's going to be upset."
In 2011, Bradley Cooper downplayed his good looks when he talked about being named that year's honoree. "I think it's really cool that a guy who doesn't look like a model can have this [title]," the actor said. "I think I'm a decent-looking guy. Sometimes I can look great, and other times I look horrifying." Cooper also dished that his mother was going to be "so happy."
