From the off-color sexual humor, to the teleprompter fail, to the subtle dig at Taylor Swift, Sunday's Golden Globe Awards show was three hours of awkwardness. Here's a look at some of the most hilariously cringe-worthy moments from last night's show.
Tina Fey Take Digs At George Clooney's Dating History
In their opening speech, Tina and Amy had a ball roasting some of our favorite celebrities. However, their gentle ribbing took at a sharper turn when they called George out for his history of dating much younger women.
As Tina quipped, "George Clooney would rather float away into space and die than spend one more minute with a woman his own age." Hey George, you need an ice pack for that burn?
Jonah Hill and Margot Robbie Experience Teleprompter Fail
Jonah and Margot were supposed to present a clip from their film, "The Wolf of Wall Street." However, when they arrived on stage, it appeared that the teleprompter had given them the wrong lines.
As Jonah awkwardly remarked, "I'm not going to lie to you. Right now, they put the wrong stuff on the teleprompter. This is for Aaron Eckhart and Paula Patton."
Margot suspected that she and Jonah had been a victim of a prank. "Maybe it was a joke that they do on rookies like me for the first time. I don't know!"
Jacqueline Bisset Rambles, Drops S-Bomb
The 69-year-old actress gave one of the most awkward speeches of all time when she won her award for Best Actress for her role on "Dancing on the Edge." She rambled about how the Hollywood Foreign Press Association had nominated her for an award for Promising Newcomer 47 years ago. After losing her composure, she tried to pull it together. "Scottish background to the front! I'm going to get this together."
When the long speech music cut her off, she dropped an S-bomb that the censors failed to catch.
Jacqueline did offer some well-meaning, though awkwardly-timed beauty tips. "I believe if you want to look good, you've got to forgive everybody. It's the best beauty treatment. Forgiveness for yourself and for the others."
Jared Leto Talks About His Male Parts, Personal Hygiene
After Tina and Amy devoted their opening speech to a discussion about prosthetic male parts, Jared decided to clear up potential misunderstandings. During an acceptance speech for Best Actor in a Drama, he decided to go a little TMI. As he remarked, "I did not ever use any prosthetics in this film…that tiny little Brazilian bubble butt was all mine."
He also decided to channel his inner Gwyneth Paltrow by talking about his waxing habits. "It was a very transformative role, I had to do a lot of things to prepare. One of the things I did was wax my entire body including my eyebrows. I'm just fortunate that it wasn't a period piece so I didn't have to do a full Brazilian. Ladies, you know what I'm talking about though…and so do some of you men, I think."
Leonardo DiCaprio's Low Blow
Tina couldn't help but refer to his history of dating supermodels, it was an awkward moment that the NBC censors tried, but failed to catch. There was actually a brief moment of silence, as it appeared that the censors were scrambling.
"And now, like a supermodel's vagina, let's all give a warm welcome to Leonardo DiCaprio."
Alfonso Cuarón Talks About Giving Sandra Bullock Herpes
When Alfonso Cuarón won his award for Best Director for "Gravity," he talked about some of the miscommunications that can sometimes occur with a language barrier. Continuing last night's trend of off-color sex jokes, he talked about how he had inadvertently told Sandra Bullock that he was giving her "herpes," when he really meant to say "ear piece."
Tina Disses Taylor Swift Again
When Taylor was nominated for her song, "Sweeter Than Fiction," I had a feeling that we were headed for another round of Taylor vs. Tina and Amy.
At last year's Golden Globes, Tina and Amy poked fun at her dating history. T-Swizzle responded by talking about how "there's a special place in hell for women who don't help other women."
This year, Tina got her revenge. When Amy won her award for "Parks and Recreation," Tina told her gal pal, "I just want to say congratulations, again, to my friend Amy Poehler. I love you, and there's a special place in hell for you."
