Get ready for a major dose of girl power! There are going to be a lot of ladies' nights this fall as some very funny females take over TV, and they'll also be providing plenty of eye candy. Here's a look at the hottest actresses that will be looking for laughs while sexing up the small screen:
Christina was the apple of many a guy's eye back when she starred on "Married… With Children," but it's a good thing blonde bimbo Kelly Bundy isn't the one raising a baby on the NBC sitcom "Up All Night" (although that would definitely make for some interesting TV). The still-sexy star will be following in the footsteps of her old TV dad Ed O'Neill in finding love and marriage on a family-centric sitcom, and she's going to be just as exasperated as the "Modern Family" dad. But on the bright side of things, her character's kid can't talk back.
On "Up All Night," which airs tonight 10/9c, she plays a new mom sharing diaper duty with Will Arnett (whose real-life wife Amy Poehler stars on NBC's "Parks and Recreation"). The couple struggles with trying to give up cursing and any semblance of a social life after expanding their family, and the results are bound to be hilarious. They're definitely going to have a hard time topping competing baby comedy "Raising Hope," but Christina, Will, and their costar Maya Rudolph are definitely beloved enough to carry the comedy (plus they all have real-life experience trying to balance babies and careers).
Christina's "Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy" costar will also be looking for laughs tonight, and hoping that people don't change the channel after "Up All Night." On the NBC sitcom "Free Agents," she stars as the perfect anti-rom-com heroine -- she sleeps with the guy (Hank Azaria) in the first episode. Her character and his both work at a busy PR firm, and they are forced to deal with postcoital tension after one night of passion, sparked in part by the fact that they've both recently lost their significant others to death and divorce. So will this backwards sort of storyline work? Maybe not, but since Kathryn's so hot, it's definitely worth a watch.
This "adorkable" star became a beloved hipster icon thanks to her role as the ultimate catch for a skinny, slacker-ish guy who adores Morrissey in "(500) Days of Summer." The blue-eyed brunette beauty is hoping that fans of that rom-com will tune in to see her sitcom, although Zooey will be the one unlucky in love this time around. In the FOX series "New Girl," she stars as a very dorky elementary school teacher who loves randomly breaking into song. When she finds out her boyfriend has been cheating on her, she moves in with three immature guys ( Max Greenfield, Jake Johnson, and Lamorne Morris). Justin Long has been cast as her love interest for a multi-episode arc, so you'll have to start watching "Four's Company" on Sept. 20 at 9/8c to see if she eventually ditches him for one of her roomies.
Kat's comedy career really took off with her role as a troubled teen in "The 40 Year Old Virgin," and now it seems that the busty brunette who somewhat resembles Zooey without bangs could be well on her way to becoming a comedy queen. She'll probably be putting movie roles like "The House Bunny" and "Nick and Norah s Infinite Playlist" aside to concentrate on "2 Broke Girls," a CBS sitcom about two broke girls who decide to start a cupcake business (which seems to be all the rage these days). However, she and her new gal pal from a very different background (Beth Behrs) have to work at a diner in order to make their dream a reality. It seems like the perfect comedy for an economy full of broke girls, and what's not to love about Kat and cupcakes? The show airs on Sept. 19 at 9:30/8:30c.
This cute comedienne actually created "2 Broke Girls," but she has her own comedy coming to NBC this fall. In her series "Whitney," she basically plays herself, however she's not as raunchy in real life as people think. Of course Whitney has to clean up the dirty mouth she brings with her to Comedy Central Roasts for network TV, and now she's going to be praying that she doesn't get roasted after her new sitcom hits the small screen. The focus of the show will be on the trials and tribulations of a gal in a long term relationship that's afraid of walking down the aisle with her boyfriend (Chris D'Elia), so with such a simple plot, she's really going to have to work hard (or dress up in sexy nurse and French maid outfits often) to keep people interested. "Whitney" airs on Sept. 22 at 9:30/8:30c.
So which one of these women of comedy are you most looking forward to seeing on TV? Sound off in the comments!
