While some actors are trying to break away from their defining character roles, Johnny Depp is making sure he keeps Captain Jack Sparrow close to his heart — literally!
The 50-year-old told E! News while promoting his latest flick, "The Lone Ranger," that he always makes sure to have his "Pirates of the Carribean" costume on him at all times. "Sometimes you go to kiddie hospitals and things like that," and added, "I'll just sneak in and go and surprise a bunch of kiddies through the different wards. …It basically turns into a two-, three-hour improvisation, and it's really fun. So I travel with Captain Jack."
But it doesn't sound like Depp will popping up at hospitals dressed as Tonto from "The Lone Ranger" anytime soon, even though he has the bird that Tonto wears on his head at his Los Angeles home. "That bird going through customs is going to be weird, isn't it?" he noted, before coming up with a creative way to remedy the situation. "I'll just put a handle on top of it, and it will be a handbag."
