Which, if you were a fan of last year’s hit movie “Pitch Perfect,” is a very, very good thing. Actress Rebel Wilson, who played the hilarious aforementioned character in the film, has launched Fat Mandi, a line of cheeky T-shirts “not for skinny bitches,” as the website touts.
As the site describes, Fat Mandi was actually a character Wilson created well before “Pitch Perfect” that then inspired the now-beloved Fat Amy. As for the T-shirts, Wilson describes the venture as “just a little experiment.” Oh, and they’re aca-awesome, kind of like Anna Kendrick's DJ mash-ups in the movie.
Right now, only two designs are available for sale for $20 – one features a pair of donuts in strategically placed spots, while the other features cupcakes. Sizes range from 12 to 18, or “beautimous,” as Wilson says.
“They are excellent T’s for horizontal running or just bludging on the couch,” Wilson tweeted about her new business. “I designed them for just a bit of fun… I had a dream I created them, and so I felt like I had to do it.”
The Australian actress was first noticed in the U.S. playing Kristen Wiig’s roommate in “Bridesmaids.” She next stars opposite Dwayne Johnson and Mark Wahlberg in “Pain and Gain,” arriving in theaters on April 26, and will host the MTV Movie Awards on April 14.
Additionally, the rising star’s pilot, “Super Fun Night,” was recently picked up by CBS. Conan O’Brien is among the executive producers.
