It's been nearly six years since Jamie Lynn Spears's shocking pregnancy announcement at the age of 16 and — after laying low to raise her daughter Maddie, who's now in kindergarten — the "Zoey 101" star is speaking out about the moment when she discovered she was going to be a teen mom.

Jamie Lynn, who had her daughter with then-boyfriend Casey Aldridge, decided to take the test immediately, but she was in an unusual spot: a gas station bathroom.
"We were filling up with gas, so I went in the gas station and took the test and it was positive," she recalled. "So that is the glamorous way that I found out I was going to have my little nugget!"
She said her pregnancy was the ultimate curveball, explaining, "I thought my next step was going to be doing the next thing in my career. This made no sense and I didn't understand it. And I was young. ... I decided I have to go home. I have to put up a big fence around me. I have to raise my child."

In between school runs and homework, Jamie Lynn has quietly been working to launch a recording career since she moved Music City. Earlier this week she got a big boost in her efforts when her hit-making sister released the track list for her upcoming album, "Britney Jean." Number nine on the list is a song called "Chillin' With You" featuring — you guessed it! — Jamie Lynn.
"I don't think you just wake up one morning and decide you're going to sing. It's something I've always done," Jamie Lynn told E! News. And while she's admittedly a little nervous, she's more excited for the world to see what she has to offer.
"It's seeing it all here and it's real," she said. "It's like, 'Oh my goodness, I'm really gonna do this.' It's like my second baby."
