According to Page Six, the “Scandal” star played with fire by choosing to walk the Oscars carpet in Miu Miu.
However, Georgina Chapman’s fashion line, Marchesa, supposedly designed a custom-made gown for Washington to wear to the Oscars, which clearly wasn’t chosen. Of course, Chapman is Harvey Weinstein’s wife, and Washington’s film, “Django Unchained,” was produced by The Weinstein Company. And everyone in Hollywood and NYC knows that Weinstein is not a man you want to upset.
“Isn’t it career kamikaze to upset Harvey’s wife on such an important night?” someone in the fashion business pondered to the Post.

Oscar winner Anne Hathaway got herself into a much bigger (yet similar to Washington’s) fashion conundrum on Sunday when she chose to wear Prada over Valentino.
The “Les Misérables” actress publicly apologized to her longtime friend for making a last minute gown swap after Valentino sent a press release declaring Hathaway would be in dressed by the fashion house.
Weinstein certainly had his hands full with he leading ladies on Sunday!
Jennifer Lawrence forgot to thank Harvey (who is usually thanked five times more than God on Oscar night) and director David O. Russell during her Best Actress acceptance speech.
But her speech addendum on Monday was so adorable, all is forgiven, right?
